Childhood; the one thing that no one wants when they have, and the one thing everyone wants once it’s gone. It was the one thing that Peter Pan would never lose. He had it held firmly in his grasp and never planned on letting it go.

Why would he? Adults were just big people that wished they were kids. There was no point in growing up, staying young was the only solution. It was the only thing he had to hold on to. Many people found Peter Pan a mystery. The cocky young boy was always rather vague, and yet very decisive. He made up his mind and wouldn’t let you change it for the world.

The boy’s past was also something that no one knew. He kept it to himself, mostly because he remembered only parts. Just one more reason he never wanted to grow up; one more reason he never wanted to be an adult... to be a father. After seeing his own parents’ uncaring attitude, he immediately assumed that all people were like that deep down. Most were. Was not even he at times? He was the self-confident and adventurous boy that simply wanted to have fun, even if it was at your expense.

Peter’s eyes opened quickly as he found himself laying on his back in his makeshift tree house. He yawned and stretched a bit stiffly, sitting up and looking around the trees to see who else might be awake. They were all sleeping and he was fine with that, it simply meant he wouldn’t need to bother with them right now.

Looking towards the sky, his eyes danced in the moonlight. He was craving something, something more than what he had right now. The feeling as though a part of him was missing with no hope of return, and yet there was that mild, childlike hope that it could be possible to get it back.

A quiet sigh worked out of his throat as his eyes darkened. “Wendy... Why’d you have to go...?” His voice was no more than a whisper, and that’s how he intended it. He wouldn’t ant anyone else to hear it; he’d be mocked for sure. His gaze shifted to the floor, changing almost to a glare. “Why does everyone have to go?”

The unanswered question seemed to ring in his head, reminding him over and over that he was alone. True, he had the Lost Boys, he had Tink... but how long would that last? How long would it be until they too decided that they had outgrown childhood; that they decided that they would outgrow Peter.

Staring up at the sky slowly, his eyes filled with tears as he studied the stars. He didn’t want anyone to leave anymore; he wanted just one person that would stay with him forever. He needed one person that understood him better than anyone else; better than he knew himself. And he didn’t, he didn’t know himself. He could pretend he did, but at the end of the day, he was just as lost as the rest. He was just as confused as any kid was. He was still trying to figure out who he wanted to be... how he wanted to act.

With another sigh, he wiped away the tears that threatened to spill down his cheeks before anyone else could see. He couldn’t show them he was weak. He supposed, as much as he hated it, that that was one thing he had in common with adults.

Even Peter Pan wears a mask.

I really like the concept of this. However, I think you could have expanded more on how as a child he was still feeling lost. When people are that young, no one really knows who they are, and I think that's something people usually forget. Peter will always be stuck in that time where you really, really want something, but you aren't sure what.

Look around your world, pretty baby, is it everything you hoped it be? <3

I agree with Moon. =3

I really liked the story, though. =D It was interesting how the story spread out and how you used Peter Pan instead of a character of your own.

Kyla: Poor Bambi...
Aerin: Do you think I like killing innocent creatures? And do you have any idea how long I’ve tried to go without thinking of deer as Bambi?
Kyla: Holy crap. You like /Disney movies?/

meeehhh. It was really just a role play intro, and I decided to add more. :]
I was actually planning on making this into a longer story, but I was too busy. -had it planned out-
